Wonderful stone holiday house (90m2) bursting with flowers and greenery in the summer months plus outside space and a roof terrace with an incredible panoramic sea and mountain view.
Casa Orengiano is situated on a quiet and pretty street in the heart of the medieval village of Haut de Cagnes, the house lies on 3 levels (30m2 per floor) – 4 if you include the roof terrace – it has been totally refurbished and is an ideal place in which to spend your holidays.
The front door is accessed by climbing a couple of steps from the street, which bring you into a delightful open and comfortable living-dining-kitchen area. The room is bright with windows opening to the east and south overlooking the village as it plunges to the town below and on to the sea. With all the original charming features of exposed beams, authentic floor tiles and a fireplace, as well as pieces of art lining the walls and surfaces – Casa Orengiano offers guests the perfect welcome.
The bedrooms can be found by descending a staircase – the first double bedroom (160cm) with sea view is situated on the first lower level along with a sunny yellow bathroom with shower, w.c and wash hand basin and a cosy corner with large sofa. Although the house is rented to up to 4 people – there is the possibility to have one person – or a child stay on the sofa if absolutely required.
Going down one more level you arrive directly into the charming vaulted master bedroom with its new king-sized bed (180cm). This room offers access to 2 outdoor terraces along with a second bathroom with bath, shower, w.c, washing machine and dryer.
The 2 neighboring houses share an access through the back of the property – the first terrace directly outside the master bedroom has a a seating area, where you can sit in the morning and enjoy the early sun – the second terrace is more private on a lower level and offers a sea view, a gas BBQ and dining table and chairs for 6, where warm outdoor dining is possible.
The roof terrace can be reached from stairs on the kitchen level – this is a fabulous space with impressive panoramic view of the Castle, the village roof tops, mountains and sea. Make yourself comfortable with an early evening apero on a bench or sun chair surrounded by the medieval village above and below. The stairs to the roof terrace are steep so NOT suitable for small children.
The kitchen level is air conditioned, which is not that common in the village – by leaving bedroom doors open at night, you can benefit from the cool air seeping down from the upper level.
Casa Orengiano is accessible by car however it should be noted that the street is narrow so not suitable for large cars – in this case you can drop luggage off 2 minutes from house. This charming stone holiday house is a real treat.
The free shuttle bus, which runs from the town to the village every 15 minutes, has a bus stop 3 minutes from the house. Private parking is very rare in the medieval village but free street parking and the paying village and town car parks are usually within a 2-7 minute walk away.
Restaurants and cafes are a couple of minute walk away, the town below with its food market, supermarket, bakeries, chemist, bank and selection of shops will take you around 7 minutes or you can jump on the free shuttle bus. The town is well services with buses going to most places on the Cote d’Azur, plus there is a train station. The sea is a 30 minute walk and a free beach bus is provided from the town in July and August.
