The main house is where all the entertaining takes place, but the small house next door gives you added sleeping accommodation and simple kitchen facilities. When entering the main house through a heavy wooden door you arrive in a home filled with comfort, light and space – ideal for holidays with lots of outside terraces, plenty of eating area possibilities and a garden with BBQ, sun loungers and open impressive sea view.
At garden level, the house boasts a large 8 seater dining table in a vaulted dining room with a utility room off it – here you can find a washing machine, dryer, microwave and extra dishwasher.
The garden offers 2 large terraces with plenty of plants and flowers, as well as a small grassy area – it is enclosed within a low stone wall allowing you to fully take in the super view in front of you. There is a large outdoor dining table covered by a pergola on one of the terraces and a coffee table with 4 chairs with electric awning on the other plus a gas and charcoal BBQ for your convenience. Stone steps lead you to the main bedroom terrace with sun loungers on the upper level.
You will find a Provençal style kitchen and guest w.c. beside the front door – the kitchen is fully equipped with a large oven and gas stove, a dishwasher, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer, television and heaps of cooking utensils and crockery.
Opposite the kitchen is the most delightful sitting room with large windows, comfy sofas, a dining table and fireplace. There is a television, book cases filled with books and a climbing stairwell with pretty iron work details that takes you to the first floor.
A bathroom lies at the top of the stairs with bath with telephone shower, a wash hand basin and w.c. Beside this is a dressing room with plenty of cupboard space.
The guest bedroom has a comfortable double bed (140cm) and desk, situated next to the bright master bedroom, which lies at the end of the corridor with a king-sized bed (205 x 210cm), fireplace, wooden beams, a television, cosy armchairs and French doors opening out onto its own private terrace.
There is also a fold-out bed that sleeps 1 available on request, which can be set up in the dressing room. Gas central heating heats the house in the colder months.
When entering the adjoining house, La Petite Vue, you arrive in a small room with fireplace, welcoming table and chairs – from here a wrought iron staircase curls up through the house. There is a simple kitchen on this level with oven, 4 ring gas stove and oven, a fridge and sink.
On the first floor is a sitting room which can double up as another bedroom with a comfortable sofa bed for two (140cm)and a w.c.
On the next level up you will find the prettiest double bedroom in white. The bed is 160 x 200m2, and there is also a charming chest of drawers and plenty of wardrobe space. The 2 windows are decorated with simple, white curtains and there are shutters to keep out the noise and the heat in the summer months, there is also an air conditioning unit. Beside the bedroom is a good sized bathroom with shower, sink and mirror – the tiles are in a soft beige marble and the view from the window looks out towards the Mediterranean sea and the Cap d’Antibes.The small bedroom has air con.
La Grande Vue and La Petite Vue are beside each other but not connected – the ideal Haut de Cagnes rental.
The free shuttle bus, which runs from the town to the village every 15 minutes, has two bus stops not too far from the houses – one you walk up from the other you walk down from – you can drop your luggage off 2-3 minutes away if driving. Private parking is very rare in the medieval village but free street parking and the paying village and town car parks are usually within a 5-7 minute walk away – you also have the option to jump on the free shuttle bus close to both car parks.
The houses are a short stroll to a good selection of restaurants and the village’s main square, which is a hive of activity during the warmer months. The town below is within easy walking distance, where you can find a boulangerie, food market, boutiques, supermarket, cafes, post office, etc. The free shuttle bus is always an option if you don’t feel like walking. The town is well services with buses going to most places on the Cote d’Azur, plus there is a train station. The sea is a 25-30 minute walk and a free beach bus is provided from the town in July and August.
