Les Deux Chansons is a 3 storey home with an eclectic twist, cosy sea view terrace and sunny balcony. Welcoming up to 5 people and is conveniently located on the village main street.
Entered through a stunning carved, wooden door – you arrive directly in the galley style kitchen, well equipped with dishwasher, electric oven, 4 gas ring stove, small fireplace (decoration only), fridge, kettle, toaster, radio, tea infuser and Italian coffee percolator.
A charming, wooden, farmhouse table with bench and 2 chairs stands opposite, there are beams and terracotta floor tiles throughout the house, as well as an unusual selection of art work and bits and pieces.
At the far end of the room, you can take the curved staircase to next level or descend 2 steps to a simply decorated, double bedroom with 140cm bed and delightful balcony offering a gorgeous sea view. A round, mosaic bistro table with 2 chairs is provided so you can relax and enjoy the sunshine and wonderful view. There is hanging space for clothes and the bedhead shelf provides a lamp and fan for the warmer months.
Moving up to the first floor, you will pass shelves filled with books, playing cards, backgammon and other activities for your stay. You arrive in the long sitting-dining room, with sea view window at one end and a view onto the main street on the other.
The dining area is 2 steps lower, with a round dining table with up to 5 chairs and the wonderful, bright backdrop of French double windows from ceiling to floor framing an impressive view towards Cap d’Antibes.
The other end of the room offers a welcoming, cosy place with comfy seating with a sofa that can sleep one person (80cm), chairs, an oriental rug and cushions, hanging light, a decorative only fireplace, coffee table and music system with plenty of cds.
Another curved staircase will take you to the last level, where you will find a bright and renovated bathroom with wooden cabinets, white tiles, shower, w.c, wash hand basin and washing machine.
Beside this is the master bedroom, which stands under the ceiling eaves – again simply designed with 180cm bed (can be divided into 2 singles), large, wooden sliding door on iron rail, hanging space for clothes, storage cupboard, bedside tables, a standing fan and heaps of light streaming in from the far wall with ceiling to floor window and glass door offering access to the fabulous terrace.
Tropezian style terrace with walls to protect you from the wind, this cosy, terracotta terrace provides 2 chairs, low table and benches with cushions for your comfort. There are solar lights, a climbing grapevine and metal pergola to offer protection from the summer sun. The sea view is wonderful stretching over Cagnes rooftops out to Cap d’Antibes. South-west facing, so it provides plenty of afternoon and evening sunshine – this is the perfect place to enjoy a chilled bottle of rose on a balmy evening.
Les Deux Chanson is a super, village house with plenty of space and imagination, windows on both sides of the house, offer light and a current of air in the summer months, although fans are also provided.
The free shuttle bus, which runs from the town to the village every 15 minutes, has a bus stop close to the house. There is free street parking and the paying village and town car parks are usually within a 5-7 minute walk away – you also have the option to jump on the free shuttle bus close to both car parks.
Restaurants and cafes are a 5 minute walk away from this Haut de Cagnes rental home, as is the town below with its food market, supermarket, bakeries, chemist, bank and selection of shops. The town is well services with buses going to most places on the Cote d’Azur, plus there is a train station. The sea is a 25-30 minute walk and a free beach bus is provided from the town in July and August.
