Maison Andre Bonnet could not be better situated – it lies on the quiet Place Grimaldi opposite the Castle and yet close to Place du Chateau with it’s restaurants and cafes.
This beautiful home is totally renovated and sleeps up to 5 people. Divided into 3 storeys, each floor spacious and bright – Maison André Bonnet (140m2) mixes French charm with comfort and provides everything required in a principle residence.
Enter the front door from Place Grimaldi right opposite the steps to the Castle, you arrive directly in a farmhouse-style kitchen with large, impressive dining table and cosy corner with sofa, armchairs and fireplace. The kitchen itself is extremely well equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer, oven, grill, stove, blender, Nespresso coffee machine, French press and air con. To the near side of the kitchen, running along the wall is the staircase, which takes you to the next level.
At the top of the stairs is a desk, for those unfortunates who have to do a little work during their stay! There is a pretty, double bedroom with bright, large windows facing the medieval Castle, air con and thoughtful touches. You will find a queen sized bed (160cm) and a sofa (80 x 200cm), which can sleep an extra person if needed – best suited to close friends and family.
Conveniently located is a bathroom next door with w.c, shower and wash-hand basin.
The main bedroom stands on the next level – it is a large sunny room with comfy seating around a fireplace (decoration only), a television, a 160cm bed, air con and its own bathroom. This room is so charming with ceiling beams and tasteful decor.
The bathroom has a w.c, standing bath tube with shower and wash-hand basin.
This level offers access to a delightful, south-west facing terrace (6 x 1,5m2) with table and outside chairs, perfect for enjoying an evening drink with bread and cheese. There is an awning to protect you from the heat of the day during the hotter month and a view, which stretches over the village to the sea and hills beyond.
This house was once owned by the writer, Andre Bonnet, who supposedly discovered the frescoes in the local chapel. Air Con can be found on all levels and the house it is available to guests over 8 years old, due to the stairs. Pets are welcome but please ask.
Only a short stroll to a good selection of restaurants and the village’s main square, which is a hive of activity during the warmer months and it is only around the corner from the Tourist Information Office and the free shuttle bus stop – the navette runs down to the town every 15 minutes.
The town below is a 10 minute walk if you don’t want to take the free bus, there you can find plenty of boulangeries, a food market, boutiques, supermarket, cafes, post office, etc., as well as a great selection of buses and trains going to most places on the Cote d’Azur.
