Maison Anodos is an absolute Provence delight! The prettiest home with easy access and its own private garage – a rarity in the village! A few stone steps bring you up to the entrance gate and into the garden. The south-west facing house itself (158m2 – 260m2 including garden) stands impressively before you with surrounding rockeries, fountain, summer kitchen, terraces, outside dining and fragrant plants and trees typical of the Cote d’Azur. The L shaped stone property embraces the main terrace with its iron dining table beneath a pergola. There are 2 sun loungers and 2 deck chairs available for your comfort. The lilac wisteria gently drapes over the facade and pergola, there is a raised fountain, you can sit around, dipping your feet into its cool water during the warmer months. The summer kitchen, on a slightly higher level offers an electric Weber BBQ and sink – all in all the setting typifies Provence with its thoughtful details, such as olive shutters, old stone and natural tiles, lavender and rosemary shrubs.
The ground level offers a kitchen area, sitting room/dining room with fireplace and guest bedroom with its own bathroom.
Kitchen – The arched front door brings you directly into the kitchen area with its terracotta tiles, wooden beams and stone sink. A Lacanche oven with hot plate and 4 gas rings and a very large fridge are the focal point of the room. Well equipped with toaster, kettle, Nespresso machine and coffee percolator – crockery is stored in a French dresser. A convenient small table with 2 chairs is situated beside the kitchen before you enter the sitting room and opposite a small staircase leading directly up to the master bedroom.
Sitting/Dining Room – This is a large, bright room with beams and pillars. French doors overlook the garden terrace, there is a dining table, comfy sofa and armchairs. There is a television set up for Apple TV but you will need your own account to access it.
Guest Bedroom – Double doors take you into the guest bedroom with ensuite bathroom, closet, air con and access to the terrace. This offers a double bed (160 x 200cm bed). Stairs lead from this room down to garage.
Bathroom 1 – Off the bedroom with w.c, wash hand basin and shower.
A beautiful, curved staircase leads you to the first floor with a large sitting room/ office area, master bedroom, dressing room and bathroom.
Sitting Room 2/Office – A bright room with pretty views over the garden and to the hills beyond. High ceiling with beams and pillars, a large 4 seater sofa with coffee table, armchairs, a desk and ornate wall mirror.
Master Bedroom – The main bedroom with 180 x 200cm bed is also accessed off this room at a slightly lower level. Again large and bright under the ceiling eaves with air con, which also helps to cool this whole floor in the summer – there are no doors. Stairs lead to the kitchen below.
Bathroom 2 – Situated off the other side of the sitting room with shower, w.c and wash hand basin.
Mezzanine Level – An open mezzanine level with book cases lies over the sitting room, making this house unsuitable for small children.
The garage can fit all car sizes but take care as the turn into the garage is easier with a medium sized car. The house has WiFi, a washing machine and dryer plus air con units in living rooms and bedrooms, keeping both floors cooler during the summer months.
Maison Anodos is simply ideal for outside dining with its large terrace and summer kitchen with BBQ. Fresh local produce can be picked up in the markets in the town below.
Only a short stroll away, you also have the option of a good selection of restaurants and the village’s main square, which is a hive of activity during the warmer months. The free shuttle bus stops only 2 minutes from the house and this navette runs down to the town every 15 minutes.
The town below is a 10 minute walk if you don’t want to take the free bus, there you can find plenty of boulangeries, the food market, boutiques, supermarket, cafes, post office, etc., as well as a great selection of buses and trains going to most places on the Cote d’Azur.
