La Maison de la Mer is a wonderfully, comfortable house with terrace space off the garden and air con in the 4 bedrooms – perfect for a family or friends.

Situated off a narrow, village street in the medieval village – La Maison de la Mer is a short stroll to the main Castle Square and a less than 10 minute walk into the town below with all its commodities. The house is situated on 2 levels – enter a large wooden door into entrance hallway with coat rack and mirror – this is the sleeping level. There are 2 double bedrooms with 160cm beds and one single bedroom. Wooden flooring runs throughout and each bedroom has air con, storage space plus mosquito nets and shutters on the windows. The 2 double bedrooms are simple and white and the single bedroom with desk is in duck egg blue and white. There is also a good sized bathroom conveniently located on this level too. This provides a w.c, large walk-in shower and wash hand basin. Tiles are cream and there is a window for ventilation.

From the main entrance-bedroom level, a comfortable, wooden staircase sweeps down in the delightful sitting room below. A wonderfully bright room with open fireplace and 3 large windows west facing. This floor offers an ‘L’ shaped, white sofa for your comfort and a dining table with a mix of bench and wooden chair seating. Simple and tastefully decorated with original terracotta tiling, antique furniture and rugs. Fans are provided for the summer months. Additionally there is access from this room onto the kitchen terrace and into the kitchen itself, one step lower.

The kitchen is conveniently located close to the indoor dining area. It offers a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, Bosch oven and 4 ring gas hob. There is plenty of cupboard space and a door and window onto the upper terrace. The tiles are lemon and white.

The kitchen terrace is tiled and offers an outdoor kitchen with gas BBQ, sink and cook top. There is a small breakfast table and  2 seater sofa, bistro table and wrought iron armchairs. A parasol offers protection from the sun. The outdoor bathroom mentioned above is located off this terrace.

You will find an additional, simple exterior bathroom off the kitchen terrace. This is basic with shower, w.c, wash hand basin and washing machine.

An exterior staircase takes you down to another terrace with charming pergola and bougainvillea over a large, dining table. This is where outdoor dining happens. Beside the dining table is a comfy, shaded seating area – ideal to relax with a book or for a sheltered siesta.  The garden is filled with a great selection of olive, palm, orange and lemon trees. The terraces are south west facing so enjoy late morning and afternoon sun, as well as glorious sunsets.

This level also offers an independent studio bedroom with double bed and ensuite bathroom. Contemporary metal doors over look the garden, giving it a sense of being a natural, hidden gem. There is also an exterior shower situated in front of the studio.

There is no doubt that La Maison de la Mer is bursting with charm and simplicity, it has lots of potential and will definitely be a home guests will want to return to.
